A playgroup is a group of parents and carers with their children under five years, who meet to play and socialise. Most playgroups meet weekly for a couple of hours in a variety of venues. At playgroup, children have fun, learn through play, develop new skills and make new friends. Parents benefit through the exchange of parenting ideas, gaining valuable support and building social connections.
A Community Playgroup is usually run by parents and carers. The group decides when it meets and the structure of the playgroup. There are many Community Playgroups in the City of Ballarat. To find a local Community Playgroup or to establish a new playgroup please see the playgroup directory below, call the Playgroup Coordinator at 03 5320 5720 or email email@example.com.
